Human Library Event at LCSC

  • LCSC 500 8th Avenue Lewiston, ID, 83501 United States (map)

Repost from the LCSC Gender-Sexual Alliance Club (GSA)

We are hosting our annual Human Library event!!

The Human Library on the LCSC campus is put on every semester by the Gender-Sexual Alliance club (GSA). Our fall event is geared toward students and community members, the spring event is held specifically for faculty members. Its purpose is to represent the queer campus community, and community at large, that is often subjected to prejudice,

stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, social status etc.

The library creates a safe place for dialogue, and access to topics and conversations that “readers” would not normally have access to. All of our human books are volunteers with personal experience with their topic. There are different ways to be involved in the event. Spread the word and encourage family and friends to participate. Come yourself to check out a human book and ask questions to gain knowledge about different lives lived. If part of the queer community, volunteer to be a book. You can email atbond@lcsc.edu for more information.
